Tavid Dobson AIOSH, MARRM
Tavid has over 30 years experience as a safety
management specialist in the transport industry.
Initially as a safety engineer at London Underground
after the Kings Cross fire 1987, Tavid was at the forefront of the introduction
of safety management systems to help control and monitor the work carried out
by external contractors.
Following many years working with both clients and
contractors on a range of major engineering projects across the rail industry Tavid
joined the Rail Safety and Standards Board with a remit to raise awareness of
road risk across the mainline railway.
Tavid has been the
rail industry road risk technical lead for the last 10 years. Working with the support
of the National Highways Driving for Better Business team, Tavid has been
instrumental in driving improvements introducing a collaboration framework to
support learnings and the sharing of good practice. Within this, he has provided the opportunity for
rail companies to benefit from working together to create tools to reduce RTC
workforce injuries and improve the management of occupational road risk.
