Commercial Vehicle Incident Prevention on the Strategic Road NetworkSpeaker: Mark Cartwright, Head of the CVIP Team, National Highways The Strategic Road Network comprises 4,400 miles of motorways and major trunk roads and is used by 4 million vehicles every day. Each year, 1 billion tonnes of freight are transported on the SRN. The National Highways Commercial Vehicle Incident Prevention team run a number of large projects and collaborates with the Police, DVSA and HSE to improve poor driver behaviour and commercial vehicle roadworthiness. Mark will talk through the current projects aimed at improving both van and truck safety, and look at what the future holds for incident prevention in 2022 and beyond.
