James Luckhurst

James Luckhurst is a self-employed writer, producer and journalist specialising in road safety and transport. From an early career as a traffic reporter and BBC local radio presenter, he developed a varied work portfolio that included presentation and newsroom responsibilities at the BBC World Service, traffic updates from an aeroplane for LBC Radio and news presentation for the BFBS Forces network. He wrote for the motoring sections of the Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Times, and was travel correspondent for women’s magazines including Woman & Home, Essentials and Family Circle.

More recently he has focused more on road safety. He edits the GEM Motoring Assist quarterly member magazine, Good Motoring, he supports the communications team at UKROEd and is the PR consultant for the traffic technology specialist Westcotec. James created Project EDWARD in 2015 and now devotes a large part of his working time to its operation and development.

Away from work he is a keen horse rider, runner, skier and cricketer.
